Corn Mazes and Pumpkin Patches Rock

October 16th, 2012

Allred's at the Pumpkin Patch

This past Saturday was a pretty eventful weekend. First, it was Graham County Fair weekend, and second, it was my birthday! I’m still not sure what I wanna be when I grow up, but you can be dang sure that it’s not average. But more about that later. The weekend before last was our annual trip to Apple Annie’s Pumpkins patch and corn maze. And I can tell you, corn mazes and pumpkin patches rock. Between the kettle corn, apple smoked burgers and family, it’s an all round good time.

Here’s why I share this with you: One HUGE aspect of success is you, living your life so that others can see.

Marketing Lesson Learned from Camelback Ford

October 15th, 2012

Happy Birthday from Camelback FordA few years back I purchased a Lincoln Aviator from a car dealership in Phoenix. Since that time, I have received at least one phone call every three months from someone at that dealership. The calls are geared towards sales, trying to get me to trade in my car for a newer one. Every time they call, I politely tell them that I no longer live in the Phoenix area and to please remove me from their calling list.

Do they do it? Obviously not, because the calls continue to come in.

If fact, one salesman even took my information, and I’m sure a long list of others, and called me just to tell me that he was now working at a different dealership. Thanks for that! Now I have two dealerships calling me. Perfect.

I’m one of those guys who enters the phone numbers of the people I don’t really want to talk to into my contacts list , just so that when they call, I’ll know whether or not I should answer it. Well, Camelback Ford was almost on that list.

Seven W’s of Being and Staying Broke

October 10th, 2012

Seven W's of Being and Staying BrokeOnce upon a time, the times that I have been the most broke, I did a few things very consistently. And the funny thing is, when I started looking at the list of those things, they all started with “W.” Imagine that. With that said, here are the seven W’s of being and staying broke.

Why me? The poor me mentality is an infectious disease and will get worse. Once you take on this frame of mind, you’ll start to attract those with similar beliefs, and before you know it, you’ll be sharing stories about how pathetic your life is. You’ll even start to blame others for putting you in the situation you’re in, but when it all comes down to it, you put yourself there. Success starts right between our own ears, and if that area isn’t working right, the rest will follow.

Running around like a chicken with its head cut off

October 9th, 2012

Running around like a chicken with its head cut offHave you ever felt like you’re running around like a chicken with its head cut off, where you felt like you had zero to little direction financially?

When I first joined the network marketing arena, the direct sales company I started off with was solid. And when I say solid, I was confident that the next ten years of my life were going to be spent working with that company. Things were going so well that I figured nothing could possible derail it.

It’s often said, that the only way to destroy something of that caliber, is to destroy it within. And that’s exactly what happened. It crumbled from the top down.

Since then, I have been jumping from one opportunity to the next, attempting to find a place that I could call home. Nothing seemed to fit the bill though. Even though these other opportunities brought in some income, they weren’t quite what I was looking for.

Prospecting is a Waste of Time

October 8th, 2012

Prospecting is a Waste of TimeI can’t tell you how relieved I am right now. Beginning in 2005, I started my career online as a Network Marketer and joined one of the fastest growing top tier direct sales companies. My wife and I spent hours and hours during the day, evening and sometimes at night, prospecting. We attended trainings, purchased audio courses and even spent hours and hours prospecting each other, for practice.

Little did I know that prospecting is a waste of time!

Yes, I said it. Prospecting is a waste of time for anyone looking to create real leverage in their business. Think about it. What is real leverage? Leverage in business is and has always been about time and cash flow. The more money you can make in the least amount of time is true leverage.

I know, that if a prospecting call takes ten to twenty minutes to complete, if I worked ten hours straight, that will only allow me to take around forty calls a day. Even with the highest priced product and best paying commission in the world, I would still only be able to make forty calls in a day, without eating anything!
