Save Money on Car Insurance according to Google

November 7th, 2012 | No Comments |

save money on car insuranceOkay, so here’s proof that Google has lost it’s mind as far as how they index websites, and which websites they’re giving the most credit to. For example, if you type in the words, “save money on car insurance,” what results would you expect to see?

As for me, I would assume that I’d see Geico or Progressive, followed by several other car insurance companies. In fact, before seeing the results, I was absolutely positive that they would be dominating the entire first page. If not them, then websites like bestautoinsurance.net, which allows you to search for the best rates.

Instead, the first seven listings are as follows:

  1. www.edmunds.com › Car Tips & Advice › Auto Insurance
  2. frugaldad.com/2010/03/03/savemoney-on-carinsurance/
  3. today.msnbc.msn.com/…money/…/how-reduce-your-autoinsurance-…
  4. www.insure.com › Car Insurance › Car Insurance Basics
  5. www.wikihow.com › … › Insurance › Car Insurance
  6. usatoday30.usatoday.com/money/…/2008-05-05-carinsurance_N.ht…
  7. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG0PHoXuTOI – The Frugalicious Show

Coming in at number eight is finally Progressive, then Yahoo finance and lastly 21st.

The First Day of the Hunt

November 6th, 2012 | No Comments |

This year my brother-in-law and I put in to be drawn for deer. Our state of residence is Arizona and having experience with hunting in certain areas, we put in for areas 27 and 28. Our first pick was 27, but it’s a coveted area, plush with deer. The hunt we were drawn for was November 2nd through the 8th in area 28.

Basically put, almost everyone who gets drawn for area 28, put in for area 27 as their first pick. So everyone in area 28 is pretty much a reject of 27. Sad but true.

The First Day of the Hunt was a bust

We setup camp in the mountains north of a small town called Ft. Thomas. The spot we chose is one of the better places in that specific area. In under an hour, would could hike to a saddle just south of us and have great visibility of everything on both sides of that ridge. We thought we would see something, if not get our buck.

Happy 13th Anniversary

November 5th, 2012 | No Comments |

Happy 13th AnniversaryOn November 5th, 1999, I convinced the most gorgeous, talented, head strong girl in the world to be my bride. Today, we have officially been married for thirteen years, and man has that time gone by fast. We now have four awesome kids, which I couldn’t imagine life without. The first three are girls and the trailing one is our boy ranging from age eleven down to 8 months.

Happy 13th Anniversary

I tell you what, life is good when there’s love at home. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to my wife. She’s an amazing spouse, mother, sister, daughter and my best friend. She inspires and expects me to be a better person, and I hope I do the same for her. She puts up with my entrepreneurial spirit and supports me in my crazy endeavors, no matter what they are.

I feel so much sorrow for those couples who grow apart over the years. I can’t say that I know the exact cause for each situation, but I do know that in almost every case, selfishness is involved. It can destroy a marriage and thus, split up a family. And over the last thirteen years, selflessness has been a trait that I am still working to perfect. And because of that, things aren’t always easy, we don’t always agree, but we work through our differences together.

The Value of Business Networking

November 1st, 2012 | No Comments |

Business NetworkingAlong side my home based business, I also offer webmaster services such as SEO, wordpress website design and website maintenance and editing. Some say that the secret to success in business is to find a need and then fill that need. Thus, people need money and time freedom, and they also need someone who knows what they’re doing when it comes to designing, marketing and editing websites. I know that I’m filling a need and it’s been profitable for me and those I work with.

The other day, I was contacted by someone who does something similar online, she designs and promotes Facebook pages for her clients. She occasionally runs across clients that also need a service that she knows very little about, SEO. She contacted me because she wants to fulfill all the needs of her customers, when it comes to the internet. I, on the other hand, don’t really design Facebook pages and could use here skills in that area as well.

Happy Halloween – Trunk or Treat

October 31st, 2012 | No Comments |

Happy HalloweenI had the privilege today to attend my eight year old daughters classroom Halloween party. Both my wife and I volunteer quite a bit, teaching P.E. classes and throwing parties. It’s awesome to be able to be so present in the lives of my children.

Happy Halloween

As I walked the hallways of the Thatcher Elementary school, I felt like I was in a Harry Potter movie. The hallways were filled with Halloween decor and kids were coming and going, occasionally stopping to take a poke at my baby boy. Everyone was extremely happy. I don’t think I saw a single child with a frown on their face today. Every class I walked by was having a Halloween party. What kid wouldn’t be happy on a day like that, right?
