WordPress Mobile Phone Apps

August 25th, 2010 | 4 Comments |

You know what? Life actually gets busy sometimes! Yeah….who knew right? With all the hustle and bustle of day to day activities, it can be difficult to find the time to do a blog post. Between helping the kids with their homework, the honey-do’s, walking the dog, exercising, eating and everything else in between, finding time to blog can be a chore. But hopefully, if you’re looking to be effective, you won’t look at blogging as a chore. It’s a business.

And if you are anything like anyone else, you have a cell phone with you almost all the time. Well, what if you happened to be sitting at the dentist waiting for your appointment, waiting in the airport or relaxing on the beach, and you happen to have a WordPress mobile app installed on your phone? What could you possibly do with something like that? Instead of wondering how to cram the time in later or wondering when you were gonna to have access to a laptop, do a quick post right then and there from your phone!

If something like that would be helpful to you, I just happen to have a few links you might want to check out.

WordPress for:

If you don’t use any of these phones, do a search for your specific phone. Chances are, there will be an app available. If not, try searching for plugins that will make things a little easier when posting from your cell phone, like the WordPress Mobile Admin. They lighten to load a bit for you.

So there….no more excuses. Happy blogging!

Inspirational Movie – Robots

August 3rd, 2010 | 1 Comment |

Robots - Inspirational MovieIf you look at my Facebook profile, at times all I seem to be doing is watching movies or reading quotes. To be honest, most of the quotes I know come from movies. It’s embarrassing when having a conversation and some random movie quote comes out that makes complete sense in my head but nonsense to everyone else. Has that ever happened to you? At times, I speak in the language of movie…and most of them happen to be rated G.

Inspirational Movie – Robots

The movie in my life this time is the animated “Robots.” The quote was, “A dream that you don’t hunt down can haunt you for the rest of your life. It’s up to you….!” The two words that stick out the most for me both start with “h,” and are “hunt” and “haunt.”

HUNT – I don’t know how many of you have ever been hunting, but if you have, you know that hunt isn’t only about the kill. There is so much more involved in the experience. Here in Arizona, you have to get drawn first. Then there is preparation: Siting in your rifle, scouting the area you will hunt in, getting out your camping gear and making sure it’s in good shape, sharpen your hunting knife and make all the necessary arrangements for time off work. Much of the HUNT is getting to hang out in the mountains with some of your closest friends or family members.

The kill is just the icing on the cake, or the overall goal. It’s what you came for, but not the only thing you get. The Dream is also the icing on the cake but the experience of achieving it is what comes along with it.

HAUNT – I know we all have regrets. Can you imagine what life would be like without having a single regret? If we could all just live that “On Purpose.” Now maybe this isn’t true for you, but when you had the chance to say something to that girl you had a crush on in High School and you didn’t, or punch the school bully in the face just to teach him a lesson or take that shot in the last seconds of the big game……and you didn’t. How long will that haunt you? How long will it haunt you to not say, do or be all that you want to be?

For the rest of your life!

The truth is, the more you don’t do these things, the more insecure you become, the less experience you gain and the closer you get to being the victim instead of what you should be, the victor. Regardless of the outcome of your actions, whenever of virtue, you are still the victor….because you gain the experience. If the girl of your dreams says no, no loss. If you miss that shot, no loss. If you punch the bully in the face and get your butt kicked, painful, yet, no loss.

I would much rather make the move and lose than never make the move at all. Winning is just icing on the cake! At least I can look back and say that I had the guts to do it…and by making those kinds of decisions, I will win more than I lose.

Small Business Website

July 21st, 2010 | 9 Comments |

Did you know that more than 50% of small businesses don’t have a website? For me, it’s insane to think about running a business without one. Call me an internet nerd, but when I think of starting a business, the first thing I think of taking care of is snagging up a good domain name……not finding investors or establishing an LLC. If I can’t get a good domain name, FORGET ABOUT IT! The business won’t work! I know…I’m weird like that. But that’s how important I feel a website is to a business. Instead of asking for a business card, people often ask for a website. It’s a form of validation and tells your potential customers who you are and what you offer.

And I’m willing to bet that the number of businesses without websites is even higher, including within home based businesses. When I first entered the industry of network marketing, some of the top income earners in the industry were still using solely traditional marketing techniques to generate their customer base: Print ads, billboards and direct mailing. Only after noticing the gradual decline in their income and the gradual incline in those who had a web presence did they inherit an interest to learn. Think about it. How many home based businesses do you know of that depend on house parties and hotel meetings to promote their product or service? And how many of those business truly succeed on an individual basis?

Unless you consider an average of less than a thousand dollars a year a success, not many!

A business without a website is like milk without the cookies…..they’re just not as good by themselves.

I don’t know what keeps business owners from creating a site for their business. Maybe a lack of knowledge or an unnecessary additional expense. Whatever it is, if you’re a small business owner, it is worth the effort. Think about the pros and cons.

Marketing/Advertising Cost = $600/month for a billboard OR ten years for a domain and hosting (for you beginners….a website).

Reach = Potentially world-wide with the ability to be found in first page results, all over the world, for the key phrase of your choice.

Maintenance = Virtually none aside from an occasional blog post or product update. Again…it’s worth it. Give and you’ll get.

Traffic = The chances of someone building a freeway next to your billboard for a drastic traffic spike are slim. There is no limit to the amount of traffic you can receive to a site. And it’s extremely targeted! You’ll never see a billboard go viral like a helpful article online.

If done right, a website for your business can make a VERY significant difference in your results. It’s all about branding yourself and extending your reach. More visitors to your business is a good thing. That’s what a website does….it brings traffic….and traffic equals dollar signs where I come from.

If you are a business owner and need help getting started, let me know. I have assisted business owners create successful small business websites for their business over the last several years. Look at my website as an example. Centered around the Home Based Business industry, I rank first page for key phrases such as home based business and business opportunity, to name a few. Blogs are for Girls?

July 6th, 2010 | 1 Comment |

I can’t tell you how many times I have told friends of mine about my blog here on CreateFinancialWealth.com and have received a weird response. I know what goes through some of their minds. For the most part, they usually don’t say much about it because they don’t know much about it. Most people probably think that blogs are for girls….mothers that are looking to put up family information for the grandparents to look at and get all emotional over. I’m sure that some think that blogging is for geeks or computer nerds who don’t hunt, fish or do much of anything else in the world besides hang out in their whitey tighties in their mommas basement.

People used to think that way…until they learned the kind of income I generate through this blog.

The truth is….if you are someone that knows much of anything about anything, you can create a significant presence online blogging about it. Big deal right? A presence. What the heck is that? For a business with a good idea, people just have to know you exist. That’s presence. But rather than putting up a billboard, you put up a blog.

WHAT? Did I just say a blog is a business?

The more you search the Net the more you will start to realize that most of the sites in the top of the search engines have a blog built into them or are primarily a blog. Search engines will love you if you know anything about anything and are able to turn that knowledge into a blog. So yes, a blog is a business….and it means $$$ dollar signs, if you know how to manage it.

Through this blog, I have made hundreds of thousands of dollars. If you look around this site, there’s not a ton of ads everywhere. I’m not an e-commerce site like Ebay or Amazon. Google Adsense wasn’t my money maker. With the presence I have created with this blog, I can do anything. Literally anything….because I have the presence.

Now, the reason I am saying all of this is because I know the magnitude of where I am and where anyone could be. Including you! If you have a passion for something, think about starting a blog in your chosen niche and become the Guru that people find in the search engines. It’s A LOT easier than you think. Once you get the listings, the traffic and the presence, you’ll get the $$.

Still think blogging is for girls? Fill out the form on the contact us page to learn exactly how I did it.

To Live Greatly

June 20th, 2010 | 7 Comments |

What is the key to living a great life, full of accomplishment and joy, where everyday is a new adventure? Here’s a hint: By seeking after things that are praiseworthy, virtuous and of good report.

Living a life of true fulfillment is the only way to live, yet there are too many people in the world that confuse true fulfillment and accomplishment with giving into temptation. “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” But I would like to add, you must be the change of good you wish to see in the world. Too many people are evolving into beings that are more carnal and primitive instead of what their true potential is. Their heritage, our heritage, is something much, much greater. Where we come from, where we began, should influence who we become. And I am not referring to our physical beginning.

“To live greatly, we must develop the capacity to face trouble with courage, disappointment with cheerfulness, and triumph with humility. You ask, “How might we achieve these goals?” I answer, “By gaining a true perspective of who we really are!” We are sons and daughters of a living God, in whose image we have been created.” ~Thomas S. Monson

This is just a quick post to honor and remember the Father of us all, who created us, and with every fiber of His being, wants us to become like Him……fulfilling the capacity and purpose of our creation……with GREATNESS!

Happy Fathers Day Everyone!
