We all grew up with our own unique versions of how to remember the order the directions of north, east, south and west. I would always get confused as to which way around the circle I had to go. Was it clockwise or counter clockwise? So the acronym I am most familiar with is Never Eat Shredded Wheat. After memorizing that, I was pretty much lined out.
Acronyms for remembering North, East, South and West
Now I’m not really sure why, but for some reason, most of these acronyms involve eating something. Here are a few more commonly used acronyms for remembering the order of north, east, south and west.
- Never Eat Slimy Worms
- Never East Soggy Waffles
- Naughty Elephants Squirt Water
- Neither Either Shoulda Woulda
- Never Eat Sour Worms (Only sweet ones!)
- NEWS (Not sure how remembering the order works on this one)
Whatever works, right?
Since I’m an internet marketer and I teach others how to make money online, I created my own little acronym for creating online success, or success in a home based business.
But before I get to that, I did a quick search on the internet for other acronyms for the word “Success.” The first search result was Yahoo Answers, and the best answer was “Students Undertaking College Career Enhancing Study Skills.”
Okay then. Not exactly what I was expecting and definitely not very motivating! Could you imaging being the keynote speaker at a conference and this acronym was your punch line! You’d get thrown out of the building.
The number two search result was abbreviations.com, which had some very interesting acronyms for the word SUCCESS. Too interesting. In fact, to me, they had nothing to do with success.
Here’s another acronym or two I found online for the word “Success:”
ViSion QUality EduCation ContaCts TEamwork BuSiness Strategy, or ViSion EdUcation ObjeCtives EthiCs StratEgy InSpiration PartnerShip
That’s a little better. Not too shabby. It still doesn’t flow all that well but makes for a great visual aid for a presentation of some sort.
So instead of thinking up an acronym for the word “success,” here’s my personal acronym for the North, East, South and West of the home based business industry. Are you ready?
Nothing Else Seems Worth it.
